As one of the top producers in the Wunderwein portfolio Battenfeld-Spanier lies in the southern part of Rheinhessen, where they grow Riesling and Pinot Noir on 12 unique, single vineyard sites of limestone and slate soils. The estate converted to organic viticulture in 1992, and biodynamic in 2005 and has been a member of the VDP since 2008.
Congratulations to the Estate and big thank you to the team at VinePair for the review and inclusion into this ranking.
