Now that the wines have arrived, we have organized a series of Grand Portfolio Tastings kicking off in New Jersey on June 14th between 2pm-6pm at Battello. Our formal New York City Launch Event will take place in Manhattan, in Central Park just after the summer.

Wunderwein, a German wine importer, is delighted to present its outstanding portfolio celebrating two of Germany’s most prestigious Riesling makers and a wide range of top producers of lesser-known varietals and regions. These include Silvaner from Franken, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Chasselas (Gutedel) from Baden, Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) from the Ahr Valley and Sparkling wines (Sekt) from Nahe, Rheingau and Württemberg.

Wunderwein has curated a collection of world class wines from famous German Estates! Our wines represent a wide range of German styles beyond the country’s iconic Riesling. We passionately promote VDP Estates and other leading German winemakers. In Germany, where wine preferences have long been leaning towards dry wines, the market is dominated by “trocken” (dry) wines made from Riesling, Pinot Noir (known as Spätburgunder), Pinot Gris (or Grauburgunder), Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder), Silvaner and more. We’re driven by a love of sharing these fine examples of German winemaking.
Among the very best are dry wines classified as Grosses Gewächs, or “great growths,” (GG for short). They represent outstanding dry expressions of exemplary single vineyards known as Grosse Lage, Germany’s version of the Grand Cru. These Grosse Lage single vineyards have long been recognized for producing wines of distinction. Our aim is to provide our customers with the broadest possible selection of these spectacular dry German wines and more.
